So yesterday saw me run my first event using the SR2012 rules set.
I reckon it went pretty well bar a couple of hiccups, the worst being the fact that I hadn’t realised PP had removed the last man undefeated winning condition for tournaments. This led to Ed Smith almost winning the event after round three by being the only undefeated player. Luckily Leon and myself talked it out and spent some time checking the SR2012 pack before I announced the final round would still take place. Thanks for your help with that Leon :-)

It's in the books.
The Thornwood league 2012 was an epic event with 18 players taking part and much fun and merriment had by all. Well apart from probably Sherwin and Erik in the final.
Last night we played scenario #7, Incursion from the SR2012 v1.3 pack.
The eventual victor was Sherwin (Club President) who beat Erik (Grandfather) in a rematch of the final. I had to call the first game a draw due to the players not reading the scenario, or rather assuming the rules in SR 2012 were the same as previous SR's.
To add insult to injury, Erik was about to win the first game and the league when I intervened in the match and explained that models can contest the "Flags" from up to 4" away, thus leaving his caster swinging in the wind, tapped dry and about to get smoked. A restart was the only fair way to settle matters.

I am looking forward now to the Chelmsford Chomp on the 23rd September. Get practising with 10 minute turns guys.
